Bellingrath Gardens was beautiful! My husband and I went with our adult son during the Chinese Lantern festival and had a wonderful time. We got there about opening (5pm) we were able to view them in the daylight and in the dark when they were lit. I recommend any festival! We always go to their Christmas lights as well!

The gardens are gorgeous and the Chinese Lantern Festival lights are so beautiful and colorful. Definitely worth a visit! I really enjoyed the garden tour and now wish we had done the home tour too. (We toured the home many years ago but I don’t remember much about the history of it. As one review said, knowing the history of the Bellingrath family makes the garden tour much more meaningful.) The outside of the home is so pretty, as are the fountains and pools around it. I had previously only been during the Christmas light display, which is also very much worth visiting. So I had only seen the gardens and grounds at night. This visit, we arrived about an hour to an hour & a half before dark, so I immensely enjoyed the beautiful flowers, plants and rose garden. Then we walked the main path again after dark to get the most out of the light display (which also looks really cool during the day). Be prepared for the heat if you go in summer.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL place to visit both during the Chinese lantern walk through and the christmas time lights. They put so much effort into making it look so amazing and it's a very family oriented place to go. Plenty of space and so many different attractions to see. They also have a snow cone truck and some adult beverages plus a food area too.

Exquisite! If you love a walk in a lush massive garden and historic home(mansion) tours, I beg you to visit Bellingrath just off the Fowl River near Mobile,Al. Amazing history and beauty inside and out. Inexpensive and family friendly. Ample parking and well paved all around including handicap accessible in most areas of home and gardens. Home tour is short around 30 minutes. The collections and the multiple gardens are extensive. You can spend hours walking around 80+ acres. Perfectly maintained. Staff is very friendly and professional. Gift shop has unique items and there is a small cafe and snacks and drinks available for purchase at a very fair price. During spring everything is blooming including the heritage magnolias and there is an evening Chinese lantern exhibit hosting a massive dragon and other whimsical creatures and flowers throughout the gardens. Fun Interactive displays for everyone to enjoy! Tour guides can answer any questions you may have regarding home and gardens. Tickets available on line and donations are also accepted. I highly recommend this wonderful historic adventure and we will return to bring visitors and will also go back for the amazing holiday light

Beyond beautiful! Our guide explained much history and interest about the place. Just go. It's so peaceful and quite fascinating! Do the house AND garden. And if you're hungry the cafeteria burgers and club sandwiches are huge and delicious. I asked for crispy fries. They were some of the best I ever had. And tell Jack that Jack sent you. If you go this weekend tell him happy 50th birthday!
